Walnut Street Bridge Reopening

July 21, 2006 - Oklahoma City

Bob and fellow Corporation Commissioner Denise Bode joined Oklahoma City business leaders in the Deep Deuce area of Oklahoma City near Bricktown to celebrate the reopening and renaming of the Walnut Street Bridge (now called the Dr. G. E. Finley Bridge) which had been closed in August 2004 because of age and deterioration.  The bridge was built in the 1930s to carry traffic over Main Street and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, and because the Corporation Commission regulates railroad crossings, the agency oversaw the plans for the bridge's reconstruction.
